How stabil is fuel stabilizer?

I have a bottle of fuel stabilizer that has been in basement unopened for about 10 years. What is the shelf life of this stuff? Do you think it is still good?

Probably better to use it for bugs or weed killer than to risk screwing up your motor. You can go to: Marine Fuel Additives to check ingredients and shelf life. Seems most of these stabilizers are some type of alcohol, petroleum naphtha, other magical stuff. Good Luck!

There is a little note on the bottle that says it can be used for 2 years after opening the bottle. But why take a chance for 5 bucks or so?

Agreed!

Since you are planning on using this to prevent problems...why even consider this?
