I have a '97 18'10" Baywatch boat (similar to newer 18V kenner). I have had this boat for 4 years now. In my first year I developed cracks under the hull that where caused by the stringers coming off the hull. I had them repaired and the fiberglass shop gave me a 5 year warranty on the redo of the stringers. So far not problems.

Apparently the stringers on these boats are known for breaking like this which caused the manufacturer to go under.

Should I be worried tht my stringers have been replaced. I've been thinking about getting a new boat because of this. The boat is payed off and runs good.

I am looking for any comments on the strength of a hull after the stringers have been replaced.

Also if anyone has this boat I would be interested to here what size motor you run. Currenly I have a 115 Johnson and would like to repower with 130/150 Johnson.

Jorge
