Sell it for $5000 to a newbie who will then log onto iboats.com asking for advice how to repair the transom, hull, floors, stringers, etc. and still be ahead money-wise! :D :D :D

Since when did burning something to collect insurance turn into fraud? Jees, another american tradition down the tubes.

Hey Bondo! Is that your Islander I see parked on outer Bradley St., near I-81? There's one there that looks just like your Avatar...
- Scott

would be cool if you could sink it somewhere and mark the spot on your GPS and you'll have a honey hole for years to come. :cool:

Wimperdink--
No, its another one just like it but 32yrs older. My Capri is a 1989. The one I am trying to get is a 1987 with a blown engine. Its the one I'll be trying to unload. Has a good OMC stern drive though, and will be on my single axle trailer.

Dig a hole in the back yard up to the water line, Bury it, cut a hole for the kids to crawl in & out, fill it with sand and give it a festive name & paint job.... or you could haul it to the nearest salvage yard

greg my old supervisor in Toledo, OH wants an old boat to put in his backyard, build a deck around it, & drop a hot tub in to it! i never knew he was a redneck until then! but i think TX might be too far for him to go!

Hey TilliamWe, that's a great idea and if it was done right it would look cool.

Get a saw and some blades and cut it to little pieces. Put the small ones in the robo cans that no one can see in and each week you can get rid of it. Take the big pieces to work on dumpster day. I have done this 3 times this year. Sell the good parts on ebay buy a real boat with the $50,000 dollars you make taken boats apart you get for free. Make sure its NOT a bayliner!

Gregintexas: The advice about Ebay at the top of the list is sooooo true. A friend of mine Friday showed me a trunk lock escutcheon for a 1978 Monte Carlo- just the dammit plate that covered the lock, mind you - and he started it at $1.00.

$ 236.28 with 21 bids.
(completed item 8009592221)

Would Barnum have LOVED Ebay or what???

(And they think BOAT OWNERS throw money into holes?)
