not sure the exact torque..but I just tighten them "good and snug", without putting any grunting into it. they are small bolts going into pot metal. you could use some blue loctite if you want. I guess after all these years I have a built in torque wrench in my hand. DO NOT OVER TIGHTEN

The tightening spec's are in the book -- I know of no man that can match or come close to a torque wrench when it comes to doing it right !

My torque wrench is my educated hand. Have put it up against a torque wrench just for the fun of it and did well enough to keep it up.

On mine, a nut driver with a screwdriver handle, tight enough to stop me from turning. Tight snug fit. If you get something with a horizontal handle on it you can easily over do it.

Having stripped off my share of bolts and having to dig them out as a young man I have come to realize that some things don't really have to be all that tight.....some things.

Mathew;

Here is a link to the condensed version of the Clymer manual. Scroll down to page 20/24 and read the water pump installation with the recommended torques. The link will only last a short while so get it downloaded to your computer. If you are a beginner at this, use a torque wrench. Nobody will be impressed with the great "feel" ability you have in your hands as most of the time it is in error.
