I have a 12' 1963 StarCraft that I need advice with the batter and MinnKota motors.
I want to move the battery to the front the Bow. I believe I should add a fuse or breaker?
I have two MinnKota one is a 28lb thrust the other is a 50 lb thrust. I would like to be able to switch between them as needed.
Is there a way I could do this? Battery is from wally World, 12 V deep cyc 845 MCA and 122Amp hr's.
I would like to do this diy and not pay if I don't have to.
Thanks and if this is in the wrong place please fix and let me know.

Do you have both trolling motors on the bow of the StarCraft at one time?

Why 2?????
The 50lb is probably much newer and more efficient than the 28...
If you want to run both you will need two different amp circuit breakers (one for each).
I would assume the motors have very different amp draws....
I had a 14' Jon Boat and could go all day with a 50lb and a group 29 battery!

They are both old used motors. Since I don't have a gas motor having the extra one is jut in case.
I've tested both and they seem to work well I believe.

Run the bat lead to a bat switch. From the switch run leads to each motor thru their respective fuses. Connect grounds together
