Having a 40hp on a Tracker Deep-V 17, wich is rated for a max of 90hp, you'll NEED to have it fully trimmed down to get on plane. When there, trimming it up to just before the prop start breaking through the surface will give you a lot more speed, as you won't be plowing much. Being so underpowered, there's absolutely no chance of porposing...(typical Tracker package, good rigs but they advertise low price by putting tinny power plants on them; end of the rant!).
