So, I split my alpha 1 gen 1 housing and replaced the impeller. I'm ready to put the case halves back together but am wondering how do align the shifter on the upper with the splines on the lower? a friend told me I had to spine the splined shaft clockwise to put it in forward and spin the prop to assure its in gear then lower the case half........is this the way to do it?

Yes, turn the splined shift shaft on the lower half clockwise and rotate prop CCW until it locks (forward). Hold pressure on the prop by hand or use a bungee cord the entire time until the halves are mated. If it gets bumped out of gear have to do it over. The shift shaft in the upper half will be pointing straight ahead when mating for forward.

Don't forget the stainless washer that goes over the lower shift shaft and the Quad Ring between the halves
