Remember reading a few questions about mounting a new teleflex style steering on older motor. Came across this photo on E-bay that shows how the cable is mounted to the boat/motor using the teleflex hardware. <br /><br />The white square piece holds an aluminum tube that is a substitute for the steering tube built into new motors. The cable then goes through the aluminum tube and attaches with the standard nut. The other end attaches to the motor with a heim joint. The white square piece is attached to a bracket by a simple ball/socket pivot point. The bracket bolts to the boat transom. The ball joint allows the cable to move in relation to the motors tilt and turn movements without causing any binding.<br /><br />Just thought I'd share the pic if anyone was interested.<br /><br />Mark
<br /><br />BTW in other photos of the boat it looks like the transom has a large plywood patch on it. The description of the boat includes the statement that the transom has "a crack in it that is easly repaired". Yeah, right.
