I got a new trolley motor yesterday. I’m trying to decide best way to install it. My first thought was build up this corner with wood blocks to get desired height. This would also be fairly heavy. Do anyone have a better suggestion? The casting deck is about 8 inches from the lip ok the bow.

Also should my trolley motor come off the front or off the side? I can see both working but wasn’t sure.

Personal opinion I would not deploy off the side for the simple reason it would possibly be vulnerable to hitting the dock. Would not be a cheap fix should that happen. Would also not be an easy to see the direction the head is in when you are using it.
As for as raising the deck to accommodate the troller is there not an aluminum shop within a reasonable distance. Most that I have dealt with would make you something that would look good, be strong and light at a reasonable cost.
Just my opinion.

Looks like the same motor I have.....as far as your install goes.....I would make a deck using 5/8" or 3/4" plywood to install level to the gunwale. Set motor so it is centered when deployed for best steering. Some aluminum angle attached to the sides that make the plywood deck flat to the gunwale. Mount and go fishing !

I just built a little platform out of 2x8s to use until I redo the entire deck this winter. I am hesitant to have my casting deck flush with the top of my boat because my toddler fishes with me often. I don't want him falling in the lake or river.
