I have a 1991 Mercury 115 hp outboard motor and need to replace the oil tank, as the magnet for the low oil alarm in the one I have went bad. I'm sure there will be air in the system when I take the old one off, so I'm wondering if anyone out there has experience bleeding this system...thanks

Re: How to bleed oil injecter

if your not disturbing the pump then just changing the tank should not require bleeding the pump. there is a bleed screw on the oil pump if you wish to bleed it.
air tends to rise so it heads for the highest point in a liquid.
if your concerned then consider either running a remote tank of 50/1 premix or just pre mix a tank of gas and mark the engine oil tank and see if the oil is being consumed when your done.
