I have a 1992 Mercury Black Max 150hp. I need an accurate tach to set my engine idle speed. Any recommendations for a cheap tach that could be used to set my idle speed would be appreciated. I don't trust the tach in my dash to be accurate enough to set my idle.<br /><br />Does anyone know if the small digital tachs that are sold at Northern Hydraulics would work for this purpose. They claim the tach works on all 2 cycle and 4 cycle motors and is accurate to .01%.
