How to clean outdrive & anode of scale/salt/haze

I bought a boat w/ volvo penta SX drive and it was run in freshwater lakes all its life but one of them is a high salt content lake and the outdrive has patches of white scale/haze all over it. what is the best method and products to safely clean this thing to look like new? Also, the anode is also covered..do you clean it or do you replace?

Salt-Away for the drive. Replace the anodes.

CLR works greatfor lime scale and rust.

in a pinch, to clean an anode, use a grinder and remove the oxidized layers to get a good bond. best is to replace it.
