How to clean plexiglass windshield

I got this 1961 crestliner Falcon boat.....It was in storage for 30 odd years.....I want to clean it up to near original condition....I am going to be painting it as well so i will have it removed. Is there some type of rubbing compound i could buff it clean with...It"s ok but not as clear as i would like.

Novus brand has a system to refurbish Plex. Grade 3 for scratches and grade 1 for finish, 2 in between. There are others out there too. DO NOT use any cleaners with ammonia, it will craze the plex. Power buffing tools makes it easier but use caution.

wrfalpacas has done the windshield on his Starcraft Ski Champ and it is like new.

I know you will find this hard to believe but... If you have an old random orbit car buffer

$22.00 @ Harbor Freight,
and some Crest Toothpaste and a spray bottle of water you can buff out that windshiled and make her look like new in an hour or two. Just spray on a mist of water smear on some paste and start buffing. Do not stay in one spot to long and make sure to keep her wet. Finish up with some wax and buffing and she will look like new.

Google "Cleaning plexiglass with toothpaste" and check it out.

I'm just sayin...

I have a 1960 falcon also and the original windshield was in bad shape so I replaced it with lexan.. Lexan works well but it does show scratches very easily and should only be washed with soap and water using a VERY Soft RAG .see pict

If its cracked..your kind screwed..

IF its hazy..you can buff it like your paint..ez does it...compound and a buffer ( rotary ) will fix this ... keep it wet with the compound/polish.

Its all in the wrist

Thank you. Yes it has the original pulley steering and a 30 hp merc 300 that I reconditioned..I will be waiting to see your falcon pictures,,,
