Hi everyone, I just purchased what I was told was a 2000 model 15 hp 2 stroke Mercury Outboard. It was repainted and the ID decal looks to be long gone. I have read several posts that the year and engine info can be determined by the engine block casting number and the number stamped on the freeze plug. The engine block casting number is 881-9727-0 and next to it is the freeze plug, and the number stamped on it is D099157. I have to get lower unit parts and I have no way to know what exact motor I have so its hard to know what to order. Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks
