How to edit title in post you created

I know I have done this several times. As I go through my restore I have been updating the title with changes to the date. Same basic title just change "Update 8/23/09" ect. I thought I always just went into the 1st post and changed the title there. Now when I do it it changes the title of the 1st post and not the main title. Am I doing something wrong here?

I think there is a limit to the # of title changes allowed. I used to do it for my restore as well, but after 6-7 changes it stopped allowing it and I had to ask a mod to change it to a more generic title for me.

I ran into the same thing with my restore thread. IIRC, TD figured out that it becomes uneditable after a certain amount of time has passed.

Time or number of changes was what I recall too, can't remember which.

It's some goofy vestige of a change when they went to the new program a while back. Some may recall that THEY did not want to allow any editing at all after a very short time since posting.

THEY acted like it was some great sacrifice to allow any editing at all even though we had always been able to do it from the very beginning.

Yes ^^^^^ but we convinced Admin we wanted to change titles. May be it is left over. I'll check.

Not sure who "THEY" is but the Mods were all for allowing thread title editing . . .
