I have a 2000 70HP Evinrude E70PL4SS 4-stroke that the PO told me has an oil leak.
He said that when it was running oil would leak out the bottom cowling and run down the leg of the outboard. At the moment I will not be able to start the engine to watch for where the oil is leaking.
Does anybody know of ways to test the oil system in a 4-stroke outboard?
Is there some kind of leakdown pressure test that can be performed?
Any ideas on typical parts that fail and leak oil on these motors?
