Re: How to get an email address for your kid?
My son has had hotmail, yahoo, and live for years (he's 14 now). He likes the live account best (not sure why, but something about the games?).
I don't recommend (for anyone) using your ISP's email service as a primary or even well-used secondary account. If you ever move, or they change hands, it becomes a hassle. Years ago, when broadband first came into being, I got it, and my email was .@home.net. ATT then bought them, and I had to change everything over to .@att.net. Then Comcast bought that, and once again, I had to change everything over to .@comcast.net. When I moved to FL, an area that didn't have comcast, I lost everything in that account. What a royal PITA it was.
I know use yahoo, gmail, and inbox. All free, and go with me wherever I go. Just my $0.02
