Somehow after adding 1/2 bottle of stabill to my tank before winter,I seem to have water in it.Added two 150ml bottles of gas line antifreeze last night to the tank.Engine would not start today.Took fuel line off at carb and now the fuel pump is pumping clear but no strong smell of gas.Added gas through carb and fires right away.Checked the secondary's at the carb and they are spraying fine.
Is there any other additive I can use to turn approx 15 gallons of gas to gold again?.I have no clue how I could ever get that gas out of the tank. Thanks for any ideas.

Pumping it out is the only way.

Nope!

You need to get a pump and pump it out. Sometimes the best way is to remove the fuel sender and pump it out of there.

I would recommend you don't try to start it until you get the water out. Any water in the tank will settle to the bottom and be pumped through your fuel system and into the carb.

Pumping it out is about your only option unless the tank is removable and you can pour it out. If you're real lucky, siphoning might get some out.

The other thing you need figure out is how the water got into the tank in the first place.

Re: How to get rid of water in a 30 gallon built in tank?

Went through this last year and the best thing you can do is pump all of it out. I tilted the nose up a bit on my trailer and removed one of the fuel pickups. For a pump I used a carter electric fuel pump set up with some fuel hose and a piece of copper tube to form a wand to stick down through the pickup hole. This sucked out everything out of the tank. I tried salvaging the fuel but learned that once the fuel absorbed enough water that it will cause the ethanol to precipitate out of the gas resulting in lowered octane of the fuel. Additionally it forms an acidic mixture that can damage an aluminum tank if you have one.

I had to drain my old tank one year because we didn't use it for a summer so it had sat for about 20 months. There was an access panel in the boat and I pulled the unit the sender and pickup are in and put a pump hose down in to make sure I got every last bit out. The gas turned out to not be as bad as I expected and ran it in the lawnmower.

Normally you would lift the nose of the trailer to allow the water to settle in the rear part of the tank. Now use a hand pump or a fuel pump (no drill powered pumps or others with sparks) to pump out the water. When you hit gasoline, put some in a clear container and see what it looks like. It may be OK to use.
