So I am now forced to trailer my boat to water. (As I no longer have a waterfront home with a boat lift.) I have been watching people putting their boats into and taking out of the water. It appears to be a mult-person operation. Of the families that I saw, it appears the wife is capable or either driving the truck and backing up the trailer, or able to drive the boat and dock it. It looks like everyone is in the boat before it goes into the water; the driver of the truck removes all the straps on the boat, and ?shoots? the boat into the water. (backs trailer into the water, stops suddenly and the boat goes sliding off) The wife then lowers the motor, starts the boat, and moves out while the guy parks the truck/trailer, then they come back to pick him up. This all because there are lines of trailers wanting to use the ramp.
Well my wife wants nothing to do with driving either the boat or the truck. She said I can go out on my own if I want.
So what is the best way to launch your boat on your own without ticking off all the people on the ramp?
