Seems simple. I replaced the water pump and I am having a hard time installing the lower unit back on. It is a 1989 Alpha 1 with a 3.0 Mercruiser.
I finally got it seated, but the shifting is off. FWD is good, N is good, but it will not fully engage in REV.
What is the trick to getting these back on? I am sure the shifting piece is a tooth off. Do I take it back apart, or do I start messing with the cable?
