In a 1981 Evinrude E25RCIM motor I would like to know the correct way to install new water deflectors that are in the block. I have removed the cylinder head and cylinder head cover. I removed the old deflectors and need to know how far in do the new water deflectors go. I also need to know the best method for bottoming the deflector. I tried installing the upper deflector using water and dish washing fluid. The deflector seems to stick out. It also seems as if the lower cowling is in the way of installing the new lower water deflectors. I have the factory service manual but I can't find any information about installing the deflectors.
