You can't see the trigger under the flywheel just the wires from the trigger.
What are you trying to do?
There should be a wiring diagram on the block.

If this is the type of trigger assy that you have, I have circled #1 trigger coil on the trigger assy in red. Note, this trigger assy is laying upside down.

This is a picture of it right side up. Note the position of #1 trigger coil in relation to the arm that connects to the linkage.

It may back fire if the wires are not connected correctly. The wiring for the ignition system on the 4 cylinder 125HP motors can be a nightmare, especially the 1988 - 1989 motors. The wires usually have a small number taped on each end. If they've come off, that can be a problem with the trigger. The wire colors for #3 and #1 cylinders are the same. so without the numbers on the ends, it's kind of a guessing game which is which.

Wrong wire connections could result in backfire or no fire depending how serious you mess it up. With no fire you are safe but with backfire, there could be serious consequences. Try to ascertain the wires using the provided schematic.
