Ive even towed a tube using my 6HP!

With the 3 of us, we had a good 600 pounds in that boat, and the drag from the tube.
Did just fine.

Mine does not look like that behind me lol! I couldn't pull a tube very fast at all if i wanted to

I wouldn't bother trying to boost anything on that 6hp. It'll cut into your beer time and it's not worth the money. The 6 is a great motor, but it's best to just buy something bigger.

Yah I love my little 6hp but my friends always gripe on how its so slow lol. I have been looking for a 9.9 or 15hp but I don't have the cash for a bigger motor yet. This motor will last me for ever if I just get used to it and keep my eyes open for a 9.9

This is whats in my cart right now what do you guys think??!! I need the part number for the grommet that connects the water outlet of the pump to the inlet pipe. My gear case lets water in so last year I just changed it about every three uses. The fill drain plugs have been cross threaded in the past and they go kinda crooked but I have a 64? seaking 6hp lower unit case with non stripped fill drain plugs that I'm hoping will fit. The impeller was new a year or two ago and I turn the motor over a half turn every month of the off season so keep it from stiffing up in a bent position. THANK YOU FOR THE INPUT!!!

id save the money for the prop! doubt it will be worth the money. are you sure on the t-stat number? oh wait, i see that the part number is for a kit, was looking at just the number for a tstat. a pic of the transom with the motor mounted would be nice.

sorry the boat is upside down with snow all around and the motor is in the basement. I will upload some pics though

I'm going out on a limb here, how handy, or daring are you? I never tried this, but I'm an old wild, & crazy guy,,,lol. Maybe if you get the new prop, you can re-route your exhaust down the leg, and out the prop? If that's even possible? leaving a little weep hole where your exhaust is now, so can check if it's pumping water. I'm sure the exhaust will provide some extra thrust, especially at high speed.

I will just use it and look for a 9.9 i don't want to damage my motor. I am very handy with a motor but body work like that is not very good

id do some measuring to see where the anti vent plate is in relation to the bottom of the boat. yer still not gunna get on plane, but if the motor is hanging to low, you may gain a little bit by raising it.
