How to make a starter rope?

i have 2 motors with out a recoil starter so how do you make a rope with a handle to start these motors?

Normally all outboards have a rope notch in the top of the flywheel for emergencies.

Visit the hardware store and look at a recoil rope for a lawn-mower and get the next size up in thickness...... attach it to a wooden handle and that should work.

BE VERY VERY careful pull starting if you have anyone else near you they could be whipped by the rope when you pull.

Be sure the cord is thick enough for the turns to only be able to lie one on top of the other.

Bit of wood a couple of good knots and voila, starter rope.

And watch out for the knot on the end of your rope...make it only as long as it needs to be and keep your boat passengers back when you use it...those knots can be dangerous and painful on a flying rope.
