OK, Just traded a motor so I am now installing a 1969 1250 merc. It has power trim box. I can see that the upper part with hoses I probably drill holes in my spillover area as that part will seal waterproof. The main part with the solinoid and operating unit. Do I install that underneath by my battery and gas tank on rear of transom area? Boat is 1969 glaspar citation. No room on side where gas tank is mounted, Probably not enough room on battery side either. I could put a board accross bilge drain plug sump area that would keep it above water accumilaton area. That is about the only plase I can think of for it. Any ideas? thanks<br />Tod

Some boat manufactures didn't leave alot of room under the splashwell for a pump, but if possiable it's the best place for it mount it as high as possible, ussally that is near one of the gunwales, if you must mount it in the weather Mercury use to make a cover for the pump
