How to paint my lower unit?

Hi, today i've seen in what condition is my lower unit, I think i need to paint it, what do you think?, and how to paint the lower unit?.

This is my lower unit (honda BF90).

Rustoleum sells for $4/can at walmart.

Sand it down to bare aluminum .......

Wash it down with vinegar and let it dry.......

Prime it with zinc chromate primer (or self etching primer if zinc chromate is not available).........

Paint with a high quality spray paint (automotive paint works well).....

Without the proper treatment and priming to the bare aluminum.....nothing will last.

Metal ready is a product by POR15. It will etch the aluminum and prepare it for primer.

I washed mine with water, let it dry and sprayed on some Rustoleum black.
I thought it would come off but it still on there.
