89 OMC Chevy 4.3 - Over the winter, had some oil leakage out of the prop shaft.

Can someone break down Barney style, by the numbers, how to pressure test an outdrive? My outdrive is currently off my boat and full of outdrive oil. I have the pump required to fill the outdrive with oil. Please include what to look for / listen for once I pressurize the outdrive.

Thanks

Re: How to pressure test outdrive

Looking at KaGee's pic for the homemade pressure tester in the link above; will any hand pump work, even one like a bicycle 'stick' pump (the kind that clips onto your bike frame)?

And sorry to be so dense, but I can't follow the hoses in his pic because it's cropped a bit. Where exactly do they connect? (i.e., looks like there's an output from the pump, input into the pressure guage, a 'T' connector, and the hose stolen from the oil filler kit.

Is it one hose from pump output to 't' connector, another from 't' connector to pressure guage, and 'oil filler' hose (connection to outdrive) coming out of the 3rd end of the 't' conector?
