A buddy has a 90hp chrysler motor. The lower end was removed to put in a new impeller before he bought it and it never got put back together. We tried a few times to put it back together with no luck. Any suggestions?

Re: How to put a lower end back on

Look up inside the leg for anthing blocking the hole??
The prop and gear sshift rod.The rod pull up to engage the gear.
Pull up on the right side prop ear.Making the driveshaft turn.
That will allow the grooves on the crankshaft end and the splines align.
Lift the unit into the cavity, make sure the water tube aligns,
Once you get it up inside, pull up on the RHS prop ear to turn shaft and keep pushing up!!.
Profile, location? You might be close to someone who can help.

Like Jerry said. It's gotta just be an "alignment thing", if there's not something in the way. On my later model, I've had to go so far as to "jiggle the shifter" to get the shift linkage lined up and turned the flywheel slightly to get the driveshaft lined up, all while holding the LU and pushing up. It's always better to have help.
