How to put the shift lever back on the cradle

Hi Guys
I will be installing my shift lever back this weekend on my 1990 48hp and I don’t have a clue on how to put it back in
I shouldn’t have removed it I was just going to change the o-ring on it but not knowing I pulled it all out trying to take the shift rod cover out
Those it just snap back in place or is there a procedure to follow

Looked in the service book it just said reinstall shift lever on cradle with the gear box tip facing down I had it already tip down after a couple of tries I snapped it back in so it was just snap it back in
