How to remove Buddy Bearings & how do I know when they are full?

Do I tap the bearings side to side to loosen them before taking them out? I've been told that the inside moves forward as they fill with grease. The inside on mine seem to be cocked to one side (on a slant) and not seated evenly. If I keep pushing in the grease, will they even out? What to do?

That's the way I always remove them.

Keep adding grease until the spring starts to compress. Do not overfill or you will blow out the inside seals.

If the inner cup behind the spring is cocked then your good, you should be able to put your finger on it and rock it back and forth if it needs greaseed then the cup can no longer be rocked back and forth.

You should be able to push on the inside to get them straightened out. If not like the others said tap them side to side to remove them. Clean them up and put them back on. And again do not over fill them. Too much grease isn 't good either. If they still don't work right spend a few bucks and replace them. Well worth the little money they cost. Happy boating.. Spend a little momey and save a lot of time!!

Thanks, I think I'll take them off tomorrow and clean them up and repack. If they don't look good, I'll replace them. Thanks again.

Took them off today. Everything looked good inside. Cleaned everything up, repacked with grease, pumped them up with a little more and she looks good to go. Thanks again for the advise.
