how to remove cowling from 60 hp

I have a used boat that I am trying to remover the cowling from a 1984 Mercury 60 hp. I have removed the front cover and unhooked the two opposing latches. Now the cowling swings open, but I need to get to the back for the spark plugs and don't want to force anything. How do I get the cowling the rest of the way off.

You have probably got it off by now but the cowling has 2 pins that fit into a bracket back by the plugs.Simply support the weight of the cowling and push aft.
