Gas will work too but if the windows are plastic they will fog and not be clear anymore. You can all way go old school and use a razor blade.
Sorry I missed in the thread where it said they are plexiglass. Forget everything I said.

I've had reasonably good results using WD40 and slowly, carefully using a credit card for the scraper. (Actually it was a grocery store "bonus" card, but you get the idea)

Probably letting the WD40 soak overnight to penetrate and soften the paint would help.

Compound and a scratch pad...one that says "NO Scratch"....you can also use Liquid Ice Detailer and scratch pad....it is safe on glass, plastic, rubber, etc....good stuff

I own a window tinting business...
If it's glass, yes use a fresh razor(such as from Home depot-small 2 inch wide with holder).

But anytime you use a razor on glass, you want to make sure you have slip agent. Whether that be water or window cleaner, etc... You never want to run a razor across dry glass. Slip "lubricates" so the razor does not scratch the glass.

Also, for plexi, the best thing to use would be a plastic razor(car detailing type-any professional paint/car detail store has them). Similarly, use slip solution(glass cleaner, baby shampoo dilute in water)...

Hope this helps...remember, never run the razor on dry glass! No need to use WD-40, etc...
