How to remove water pump/bearing housing? 15FMH (warning awful corrosion pics inside!)

Fixing up a second (or 99th) hand Yamaha 2-stroke 15FMH outboard. Took the water pump housing and plate off to service the impeller and have found out first hand why flushing after salt water should never be skipped. Inside looks like someone ran it in acid.

Thought I was shopping for a new lower unit but on checking the parts diagrams, this whole housing comes off and is replaced with part 63V-45331-00-5B

Question - how does it come off? Do I remove the seals and bushings eg tap/screw/punch and then it pulls off nice and easy...

Looking at the workshop manual, and a few posts I've found, I have an awful feeling the entire prop shaft assembly needs to come out first, but I can't see why that would be the case as it doesn't look like it's held in by anything lower down now, just the bushings and seals I can see in the picture.

Alternatively, can I just remove and replace the seals/bushing or does the corrosion look too severe?
Thanks in advance
