use red loctite on the bolt when you replace it, I lost a brand new one in 2 hours running, others have damaged their prop when it came loose. play it safe and use loctite. for low speed wander steer for a fixed object and try not to think about steering,let your natural reactions take over, soon it will no longer be a problem

Red Loctite is not "service removable' meaning you may need to introduce heat to it to remove it. Blue Loctite (242) is service removable and is applicable to 3/4" nuts/bolts. If you plan on adjusting your tab, I wouldn't use either until it's just right...

Ayuh,... Using Lock-tite, or anything else kinda defeats the purpose of an Anode....
It has to be electrically Bonded to the drive....
Goobering the threads with a plastic doesn't help a Thing....
If ALL the mating surfaces are Clean,... 25/ 30ft.lbs. of torque is All that's needed....

I have been using red loctite on my trim tab/ anode bolt ever since I lost the new one 6 years ago. if it wasnt making contact it wouldnt erode away ,would it. if red loctite was non removable how is it that it comes undone with no trouble when I change it every 2 years? this is tried and proven, Bondo may have a lot of experience but he doesnt know everything, no one here does. this subject has come up before, I am not the only one who uses loctite on their trim tab bolt

mine is flat so I can use a larger diameter prop.
