How to replace trim switch????

I have Been trying to replace my trim switch on the throttle trying not to break anything. The throttle only cap comes out but no visible 11/16 nut like what I have found says can someone help me out with details what I need to do.

Welcome.
If that control is like mine on the bottom of the control handle there was a gap where I inserted a hex key.

If you put it full throttle in throttle only mode then the gap would face the stern and make it easier to look at.

You might look for a parts listing for that control. It might tell you what comes apart.
To remove the throttle handle, as was suggested, sometimes an Allen set screw holds it. Om mine, the handle needed to be about 75% of max throttle in reverse (engine off, naturally) to gain access to the Allen screw, on the very bottom of the handle.

To replace the trim switch, many controls have a couple of screws holding a plate over the switch access. I don't see that on yours.
