I was recently given a Johnson 115, model VJ115TLETS. This outboard was left outside for 4 years, the owner was junking the boat and offered me the engine with controls and gauges.
I cleaned the motor up last fall and spayed engine storage oil into each cylinder and turned it over by hand. After 24 hours I spun it over to get the following compression #s.
100, 80, 120, 110.
Its it been in the garage at a cottage over the winter.
How should I go about starting it up?
What steps should I do or not do?
Thank you for your support.

With those compression numbers there is no point trying to start it.----I think it has broken piston rings and needs a rebuild.---Needs 4 new pistons !!
