Have a 2005 merc i/o 5.0 ow320169 efi, alpha. I brought the boat home and the trim was full up. Becasue the trim gauge wont read I found the trim senser (sensor on the curb side) was out of adjustment so I set it to read the gauge about right. now the trim wont go up for trailering. I dont have a trailering switch on the shift lever. I cant find any info on trim angle setting in the manuels so im thinking that the trim limiter (on the street side) needs adjusting but if that true how did the trim get up when i brought it home. Is there an override switch some were to get the trim full trailering up? I tried reajusting the sensor but that didnt change anything. what im i doing wrong?
