Well, it depends on what kind of ignition it is. If it has points, there's going to be one wire at the dist. That one goes to the minus side of the coil.
Yours probably has some sort of electronic ignition. Maybe the following pic can help.......well maybe not......

If the above is yours, there should only be one wire on the dist. The one that goes to the points/condenser. You'll also have an ESA (Electronic Shift Assist) module installed. you could disconnect/bypass it for testing and just run the negative lead of the coil directly to the dist if all you want to do is run the engine on the stand.
Some engines of that year had the Spitfire and some didn't. You need to find a correct-year service manual if you don't have one. That will have the correct wiring schematic
That isn't a Spitfire ignition is it? (if it is, I feel for you)
