i would look close at how its loaded first , gear, battery ,fuel and so on , but it may have a weak spring, normaly a shock dosnt do much more that asorb impact , thier some gas shocks that to push out but they dont have that much

I've literally never seen a boat trailer with shocks... Intersting. But I also don't believe they would cause it to lean either. Either the boat is heavy on one side (battery, etc) or a damaged spring/mount. Can you post pics

Can't be shocks. Shocks don't support weight but springs do.

found the problem it could be the extra 150 lbs of rotted wood flooring under the fiberglass floor so ripped the floor out new one going in

ugggg i really feel your pain, I have ben there and done that several times, but try to think of it this way, when its done , you will have the privlage of owning a boat that is not one like you will see around, older boats do have more style that the cookie cutter boats dont have, and were built better and with more care that a lot are today my first old boat was a 1968 west wind, made by tridyne out of maimi fla , and I have never seen another one like it or even found any reffrance to it on the net and yes I spent a good amount of time rebuilding it, floor ,stringers, transom seats carpet and trailer, and after I spent endless summers using it and raised 3 daughters out on the lakes, my girls all pitched in to help, and that made it all worth it many times over, and here on Iboats you will have the help if you need it .
