How To Test A Rectifier

I have found confusing, and some downright incorrect methods to bench check a rectifier with a digital multimeter on the web. I initialy had checked my rectifier and belived it was bad, before I ordered another I took it to a friend who has profesionaly worked with electronics for close to 40 years to have him verify. I found it was still good. With his technical assitance I put this check procedure together. Hope thiis is of some help.
