Before you go to the trouble making a dva, disconnect all the leads from
switchbox, rectifier, and ground. Check resistance from blue to ground
and red to ground and post up your #'s. I don't have my manual in front of
me but if noone's post up I'll list the normal ranges.
sorry I havent had the time to test that yet no cutting out but it did make a noise a few times kinda like I had it trimmed a little high but it was all the way down I also found after further inspection of my plugs it seems there is a piece of metal(aluminum??) on the end of my #1 plug touching the electrode could this have been my problem all along?
Or a broken reed... Sometimes you can see the damage through the plug hole but if not, borrow a bore scope and have a look. achris is right, it aint gonna be good considering your qualifying symptoms.Oh dear.... That sounds like a piston has detonated. If so, an engine strip and rebulid is the only fix.
