What setting do I use to test a outboard condencer with this meter?

Still not a pro.. LOL..
I'd probably use either 2000 (not 2000k), or 20K in the Ohms section..
Really just looking for it to jump to 0, then creep back to infinite resistance as I understand it..

If you have an analog meter, that would be better I'd think.. You can see the needle movement...

You use the continuity setting to charge the condenser, then quickly swap the leads and set the meter to check for low DC voltage. You should see a momentary spike, if the condenser is good.

The continuity setting on your meter looks to have a diode and a + on it.

Condensers are cheap replace it if you are unsure if it is good. If it is broke, you will not have spark in a conventional magneto ignition..

After doing the omc coil swap on a 56 7.5 elgin I had zero spark.Brand new coils and the points look good. The condencers are an odd size and pricey.I will have to drill out the condencer holding hole to fit a omc one but not a big deal.
