I cant seem to figure out how to use the throttle only mode on my Bayliner 175. From what I read you would press the round button at the bottom of the throttle control lever. Then, without pulling on the trigger and putting it into gear, push the throttle lever forward. Is this right? I have done that but no what I do I cant seem to get the throttle lever to move unless I pull the trigger and put it in gear. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

yes, you still need to pull the trigger to move the handle.
Pushing the button disengages the shift mechanism.

Push and hold the button, pull the trigger and push lever forward. Once the lever moves a little, you can release both the button and the trigger.

And if the button doesn't want to depress, rock the handle fore-aft while pushing the button. When they start wearing out you may need this additional action.
