my 94 112 came with only 6amp rectified charge system. since Im replacing stator and rectifier, I will put on 9 amp stator and regulator. this was standard on the 25 in version of my motor.

Mounting the regulator is no problem, how to wire it up is a different story. My manual (clymer) doesnt correctly show the wiring schematic for what I have now, or after the regulator is added. The rectifier has 3 leads, the regulator will have 5. I dont understand what the grey and purple will do, since I dont have them now. there are spots on the terminal strip for them, but since not used now, what will they do.? My tach signal comes from ??now red/purple?
Will this change? do I need to do anything beside wire up matching colors?

The gray wire carries the tach signal. You need to hook up the purple wire as that is the 12volt power for the regulator electronics and also tells it what the voltage is.

You can look at a wiring diagram for a 90hp of the same year, or later, for reference.
