Re: How will the mandatory HD effect us?

Our 25-year old 26" RCA console TV crapped out last week. I think its the power supply. I loved the old dog, but wife says its time I get into the 21st century and buy one of those new HD flat panel TVs.

So I go to Best Cry. The security guy at the front door says "Hi," but he's the only one in the store who speaks to me. Three folks in blue shirts pass by me as I stare at all those TVs, but none would make eye contact much less stop to help. I try to stop a fourth as he passes by. No luck. I leave. Friendly security guys says, "Bye."

My son the techie takes wife and me to an electronics store he likes. Lots of jibberish, but very thin answers to questions like, "Will it work with our existing cable setup (without digital channels)?" Son has cable with all the goodies, so he thinks we all should.

So where did I find the best information on this confusing topic? Right here, on a boating forum no less!

Thanks!!

P.S. I'm thinking of getting the old RCA console fixed just to see how my son the techie would react! (just kidding)

Thats funny.......I work at Best Buy. This time of year there are more salespeople than customers and they are chomping at the bit to have someone to help......

I don't work in HT though........inventory/ loss prevention supervisor.
