You don't use 1708 with epoxy. It has CSM stitched to it and CSM is NOT needed or desired when using epoxy. For the bottom of the deck you only need the epoxy. On top I'd use the epoxy and 6oz fabric.

interesting....I've used it and csm and haven't noticed anything detrimental??? but I'm self taught and have been wrong before. I believe I have some 6oz fabric laying around.why wouldn't you use epoxy with these?

Not saying you can't, just saying it's NOT needed. CSM is ONLY needed for Polyester resin. It's the Binding agent for the resin. Epoxy has it's on binders in the mix and will "Stand Alone" when fully cured. Polyester resin won't. CSM just soaks up more epoxy and makes the layup more expensive and adds nothing, no strength, no benefit so why use it?? A regular biaxial cloth is ALL that's needed for added strength.

any suggestions on bonding the deck to the stringers? in the past I mixed up some peanutbutter and used that.
