How would you temporarily block porting holes in a prop?

I bought a Turning Point Hustler prop (2nd generation) and they come ported from the factory. I've been doing some reading on here and other sites and I got the understanding that the holes may not be necessary for some applications and may even hurt performance.

I need some ideas as how to temporarily block the holes so I can do some back to back testing. Then, if needed, how to block them permanantly.

I was thinking about tapping the holes and installing little pipe plugs. Good idea?

There are little plastic or rubber plugs available for just that purpose. I would not tap the holes. Look on the manuf. website or even i-boats prop section might have them. The prop whould have come with a set if you bought it new.

If you could get good adhersion, tape on the inside, over the hole. Should be good for a test.

No, it didn't come with any. I bought it brand new. I won't tap them and I will look into getting the proper plugs, if I find out that's what I need.

That is a good idea. Didn't think of it.

Put tape on the inside. With one hole facing up, fill with epoxy. Let harden and do the others the same way. Easy to drill smaller holes to fine tune if needed. And easy to remove again entirely if desired.

I bought plugs for my prop. It made a huge difference on the hole shot. I have a lazier II with square holes best upgrade to my ventilation issue
