Made an appointment with my Merc guy, took my boat in, waited and watched while he did the work, heating the housing on my B3, pulling the bearing carrier, installing new O ring, pressure testing, quart of Quicksilver High Perf gear lube and out in less than an hour. All for less than $60.
Jim's Marine in Terre Haute, IN.
This guy knows his onions!!!

glad it worked like the book. here in the salt pond I cringe on SX drives and Bravo drives as well as anyother drive that uses a spanner nut or a threaded carrier. I spent 4 hours removing the last bravo II carrier and 2 hours yesterday just on removing an SX carrier. not only was the SX unit a crabber, the idiot has painted the entire unit with copper non-fouling paint. the case is actually starting to rot.

I gave Frank $20 for teaching me how I can lose and gain 8 mph every season AND how to stop it for 3 - 5 years.
