i ordered a new prop and replaceable hub and i was going to have it installed today. i was going to have someone do it but i didn't realize how easy it is to do it myself. but first i am going to have to exchange the prop i bought because this guy told me that i have a way different pitch than my original. my original was a 10 pitch. i ordered a 15 pitch (don't ask I'm still learning about boating). well i was looking through the instructions on how to install the hub but it didn't mention anything about removing these little orange plastic things (looks like the wire from a weedeater) that are inside the tension springs. do i need to remove this when i install or leave them in there? I waited over a week to have this so i could get out on the water and now i'm gonna have to wait a little longer till i get the right prop.

Re: hub install question

I have a 1974, 135 HP Johnson Powershift II. Does anybody know the pitch of the prop?

jason, very rude to hijack another thread. post your own in the prop forum. thanks you.

spacerust, not familiar with the prop you are using.
