hub?????

I have a 84 Mariner 150hp. I took it out last weekend and I noticed right away that something was wrong when the motor was at WOT. The motor will rev but the speed kept constant at around 15 mph. I used to do 50+ mph on this boat. I been searching on this forums and it seem like it was a spung hub. When I took the propeller out, there is no hub, I was told by a marine store it an older motor and hub there are not hubs. Dose this mean my lower end needs to be replaced? Any suggestions will help. Thanks in advance.

Your prop has a hub, no doubt rubber. Look right around the splines where it fits onto the propshaft. You should see a black area between there and the actual propeller. Take it to a prop shop and have them check it. Your lower unit would not slip. It either is in gear or it's not...

Ayuh,....

Install your Spare Prop,+ Try it......
